Katrina Bowden Is Engaged

Katrina Bowden has another rock on her mind these days.

The 30 Rock hottie revealed exclusively to E! News on the SAG Awards red carpet that boyfriend Benjamin Jorgensen popped the question last night—and she said yes!

Well, Toofer and Frank can stop vying for Cerie’s attention now…

“He proposed and showed me the ring and I was so shocked I just said ‘Oh my god,’ and I hugged him,” Bowden revealed. “Then he said to me, ‘So is that yes?’ ”

Well, aside from being very smart to put a ring on Esquire’s pick for the hottest woman alive in 2011, what sort of fellow is Jorgensen?

The New Jersey-born 28-year-old is a musician who used to front the band Armor for Sleep. He released a solo LP, There Is Nowhere Left to Go, in 2010.

Meanwhile, his lady is up for Best Performance by an Ensemble in a TV Comedy along with the rest of her 30 Rock cohorts.

And happily, Jorgensen and Bowden did in fact find a place to go—the altar. Congrats to the happy couple!

A huge congratulations to Katrina and Ben on this amazing news!

“Piranha 3DD” Status Update & US Theatrical Release Confirmation

The Daily Dead has posted a new statement from “Piranha 3DD” co-writer Patrick Melton about the status of the film and when we can expect to see it in the US.

Patrick Melton: “To clarify, the Thanksgiving release was always overly optimistic. Marcus and I started writing the script around Thanksgiving a year prior. Making the film within that time period is plausible (we’ve done it on Saw, obviously), but it became clear very early on that our goals were not realistic because we needed sun, water slides, and bikini-clad coeds… three things not very prevalent in the United States during the months of January and February. We initially scouted Louisiana and realized that we wouldn’t be able to shoot until late March because of the cold weather. Now, with the additional FX worked needed to create/enhance the piranhas, the Thanksgiving release was out the window.

Nevertheless, we plowed on and finished shooting in late May. Over the summer, Gulager edited and picked up a few shots around Los Angeles. This is typical of every movie made. Scenes, jokes, and kills were simply enhanced to make the movie more of an event. About a month ago, it was tested and scored very well. So well the studio gave us more money to enhance the FX. Soon, it’ll be done and ready for a theatrical release. Because of the “Spring Break vibe” in the film, spring was the obvious time to open it. And because Dimension Films financed the movie and owns the movie, they call the shots on when it’s released worldwide.

So, that’s the long and short of it. All good. In theaters this spring. See you then.”

‘Piranha 3DD’ dropped from UK cinema release, heading straight to DVD

Piranha 3DD has been pulled from UK theatrical release and will instead go straight to DVD and Blu-ray.

The $20 million-budgeted horror sequel will arrive on home video on March 19, 2012, reports website Dread Central.

Entertainment Film Distributors withdrew the movie from their cinema schedule and will now release it on DVD and Blu-ray through their EV home entertainment arm, according to the British Video Association.

Piranha 3DD will be released theatrically by Dimension Films in the US, although a date is yet to be confirmed. Rhames and Lloyd reprise their roles from the first film, while Danielle Panabaker, Katrina Bowden, Chris Zylka, Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff (cameoing as himself) are new additions to the cast.

Eli Craig Talks Blu-ray/DVD Extras for ‘Tucker & Dale vs. Evil’

Dread Central’s Andrew Kasch reported in from the press junket for Tucker & Dale vs. Evil with some news regarding what we can expect on the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release for the film along with a bit of a tease from writer/director Eli Craig as to what his next project might be.

First off, the home video release of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil from Magnolia (coming on November 29th) will include a lot of outtakes and a brand new 15-minute short film called “Tucker & Dale Are Evil”, which is essentially the events of the film told entirely from the point of view of the teenagers.

The hilarious horror-comedy feature centers on two redneck buddies, played by “Firefly”’s Alan Tudyk and “Reaper”’s Tyler Rabine, who, thanks to a series of misunderstandings and unfortunate events, are mistaken for psychopathic hillbillies by a group of judgmental college brats, who themselves turn homicidal, after the duo’s rescue of one of their friends, “30 Rock”’s Katrina Bowden, gets misconstrued as a backwoods abduction.

“Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” on DVD/Blu-ray in November

In an early alert to retailers Magnolia Home Entertainment has made public their plans to bring the 2010 Eli Craig directed horror comedy film “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” starring Tyler Labine, Alan Tudyk and Katrina Bowden to Blu-ray Disc on November 29th.

The film, although made in 2010, has yet to get a full theatrical release and in fact won’t until September 30th. My point here is this will only be hitting theaters for a few months. Also, I guess they would rather the film be in theaters during Halloween for marketing purposes. However, as you’ll notice that Apple will be getting this exclusively on iTunes on August 26th.

Tech specs and bonus materials have not been officially detailed but stay tuned. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $20.99 price tag.
